Can this replace the spotlight on a police car?

Will this lamp also replace a GE 4406-1 (bulb diameter (dia): 4.5 in (114.300 mm)?

This lamp's real dia is 111.6mm, we think it can also replace a GE 4406-1 bulb.
Is this PAR36 a dimmable light?

No, it is not dimmable.
Will this light fit on a regular 4'' opening?

It should fit into a standard 4" opening, it has the same flange front and 4" step in the back as a halogen "Capsulelight" It does stick out more in the back than the regular bulb. Dimensions on this bulb is 4.5 in x 2.88 in deep. Hope that helps. Handxen: We have 4'' round tail lights for trailer, truck, tractor.
Do we need transformer for this PAR36 light ?

No just hook it up to 12 volt power and ground. Remarks: 12 volt -DC power. But if you connect this PAR36 bulb to AC power, you need a transformer.
